This website is dedicated to my mother, Evelyne Dolores Farmer. It is the website that she would make, if she were still here to do it. Evelyne was a dedicated mother and army wife. She accompanied her husband, my father, Frank Smedley Farmer, on his assignments to Japan, Germany, and numerous locations in the United States. This was a very stressful existence, with the difficulties of raising three active boys and maintaining a household alone, much of the time. The army experience also allowed her to travel to locations that she would have otherwise never been able to visit. She was a meticulous recorder of events and locations, including extensive collections of 35mm slides and 8mm movies. Visiting these places was one of the highlights of her life, and she took great joy in sharing her experiences. This website presents some of her 35mm slide collections, in a series of topical essays. These images provide an interesting view of Japan and Europe in the 1950s, and the US during the 1950s and 1960s. I hope you enjoy them! Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. I hope this web site increases your appreciation for members of the US military and their families. Click here to support military families. Frank R. Farmer
