This page features 48 photographic images of the 25th Infantry Division (Tropic Lightning), taken in Cu Chi, Vietnam, during 1966. When the 25th went to Vietnam, my father, Major Frank S. Farmer, was the Executive Officer of the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, which was part of the 2nd Brigade. Halfway through his tour of duty, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and assigned as Headquarters Commandant, 25th Infantry Division.
The images shown include staff officers, helicopters arranged in takeoff formation, aerial photos of the Cu Chi base and surrounding countryside, and a USO show, featuring Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, and other entertainers. My father is featured in 6605-01, 6605-03, 6605-05, and 6605-09. Major General Fred C. Weyand, Commanding General of the 25th Infantry Division, is featured in 6605-10, 6605-11, and 6605-12.

I would be particularly honored to hear from anyone who knew my father. Several veterans have contacted me, with offers to provide their own photographs. These guest images are presented here. These web pages are presented as a tribute to all who served in Vietnam, and most especially to those who gave their lives in service to their country.
