KRFD

Hi,

My name is Martin Brown and I worked at KRFD during the time Andy was PD. I was surfing the net tonight and thought what might happen if I searched for KRFD, and surprise!!

I cut my teeth in radio working there in 1993 and had the time of my life learning radio from Andy Emert and Jim Naylor, a style of presenting a diverse musical experience that is long since missing from the commercial, watered down, repetitive radio of today. I was in another country when I heard of Andy’s passing some time ago, and it devastated me to hear of losing someone so true and committed to the listeners and the music itself.

As a former employee and student of that wonderful station, I look back and proudly hold my head up high, knowing that I too had a small part in delivering Andy’s passion for music to the people of northern California. Long live the spirit of Andy Emert and KRFD. Thank you.
