This map shows portions of the Sonoma Mountain range, near Glen Ellen, California. It has been a favorite hiking location of mine since 1972. I completed several backpacking trips in the area, during the 1970s. These trips started from trailheads near Sweet William Court in the Diamond A Estates development, and in the Sobre Vista development.
Both of these areas are privately owned, and much of the area consists of private property. This map is not intended as an inducement or invitation to violate private property rights.
If you wish to experience this area, I recommend you visit the greatly-expanded Jack London State Park. This fine park is a nice introduction to Sonoma Mountain. Here is my own Jack London State Park Report.
For more information on other hiking opportunities in the Sonoma Mountains, please learn about Fairfield Osborn Preserve and the Friends of Lafferty Park.
