MY
UNIT, Co. B, 1st Bn 27th (Wolfhounds) of the 25th Infantry Division was
stationed at a small place called Cu Chi, located about twenty-five miles
northeast of Saigon, and near the unused Fil Hoi Rubber Plantation.
Throughout
the year, from the time we set foot on Vietnamese soil around 17 January
1966, till I departed in December, we were constantly on eagle flights,
ambushes, and search-and-destroy missions. We also were on daily sweeps
aided by tanks, armored personnel carriers (APCs), and helicopters (HUEYs).
