KRFD 99.9 Log Memo Notes by Jerry Dunn

I found some memo's from Andy. They're not too exciting, but they give a little peek behind the scenes.

All stations have to provide a sample of their playlist so companies like ASCAP and BMI can determine what to charge. Even in the early 90's most station's playlists were computerized, so the required report was a mere printout. For us at 99.9, we had to write down each song, as well as the listed composers.

Once in a while Andy would show up early, and I could hear him typing fast and furiously. Those were the mornings when he had some strong coffee. Too bad we didn't have Starbucks back then.

This memo explains the BMI logging process. Again, not too exciting. But it might bring back some memories for some of the "Jacques" as Andy like to call us.

I wish I had some more memorabilia from the station, but at least I was able to find a few things to share.
