The view south along the Sacramento River,
from the Pocket Area Levee Bike Trail. Yolo County and West Sacramento
are on the opposite bank. The swirling patterns in the water surface
are a tipoff as to how foolish it is to swim in this dangerous,
cold, and murky water. Power boats ply this waterway on most days,
but none were out on this first day of 2003.
